Lock-ness monster

Today, when I called on my handyman resource- Google, to find me some information, an interesting website showed up which was amusing at the first glance and roused my curiousity enough to click on the said url.

The site that showed up was so...

There are many styles of storm doors on the market, so before making your ...

www.rentahusband.com/parademag.html

Now WHAT was it I was looking for that brought this on? You ask?

Here's the deal. A startling discovery at an ungodly hour this morning, whilst I tried to water my plants was made. Anyone could open my front door, I mean ANYONE. I am generally not the oober-paranoid kind, but this piece of info freaked me out. Enough to stay home and get some information on the what, how and whys of deadbolts and their installation. Yup thats the story behind how I discovered this website.

So I clicked merrily away to discover information on how to secure the doors, safeguard the property and door maintenace. Ya, interesting and amusing for sure.

On a related note, when I was talking to my co-workers about said deadbolt(which I had no clue until friend Google helped), T mentions- well you get easy to install kits you know. You just need a couple of screwdrivers and a rachet set. Erm, screwdrivers I figured, now I didnt see why a tennis "racquet" set would come in handy. Again friend Google came to my rescue....from making a fool of myself!

But after putting two and two together, making 8 and all, I figured I didnt want a holey front door(disastrous results from do-it-yourself projects) any more than an easy-to-open one. So this time I will shed my handywoman hat and leave it to the experts...ahem maybe like the rent-a-husband kind that will do it the right way and rescue this damsel and de-stress.

A couple of notes to self :

1. Deadbolts are lifesavers. They are supposedly easy to install, but please to not drill holes in the front door without prior experience.
2. That alarm system comes handy in more ways than one.
3. Landscaping should come after security in the to-do list.
4. Listen to elders' advice when they remind you of the auto-lock each time you step out.

Thats it for now.
