Yup, I totally agree. My childhood dream profession was to be an artist. Hence Paris held a special charm(akin to Alice in Wonderland). I would read many novels that talked about the amateur artists that moved to Paris to make it big, and the Renaissance movement. I could almost see with my minds eyes, artists flocking to major European cities, learning new and improved techniques, collaborating with the best and brilliant. What a time, what an age, what an era!
And wonder of wonders another voice of reason says.........
